Petition to the Pope on Holocaust Denial

Petition to the Pope on Holocaust Denial
"There was not one Jew killed by the gas chambers.
It was all lies, lies, lies!"
- Bishop Richard Williamson

Bishop Richard Williamson is a Holocaust denier. In a TV interview last year he reaffirmed his view that not a single Jew died in the Nazi gas chambers. In April he was convicted of Holocaust denial by a German court. In November he will appear before the court in an effort to have his conviction overturned. Following widespread international condemnation, the Pope has called on him to retract his statements but he has refused to do so.

Lamentably, Bishop Williamson is not alone in the Catholic Church. Other members of the clergy hold and express similar views. At a time when Catholics and Jews throughout the world are striving to develop mutual respect, we call on Pope Benedict XVI to ensure that there is no place in the Roman Catholic Church for Holocaust denial nor those who practice it. In January 2009 Floriano Abrahamowicz, a priest with Jewish ancestry, claimed that the number of six million Jews killed in the Holocaust was 'derived from a number fired off by the head of the German Jewish community without knowledge of the facts'.

His Holiness: Germany has earned the trust of the Jewish people by confronting resolutely Holocaust denial, which is nothing else than anti-Semitism. With Your own work on behalf of peace and mutual respect between the Catholic Church and the Jewish People, I urge you, also as a German, to be resolute against anti-Semitism in this most toxic of expressions, namely to murder truth and the memory of those six million innocent Jews murdered by Nazism and its allies. No bishop or clergy should be allowed to indulge in Holocaust denial, last but not least, because the Church had a part in the millenial anti-Semitism that led to its culmination in the Shoah.
The role and sympathies of The Catholic Church in WW2 needs to be admitted and repented over.
Do you support this lyier?
As Pope you claim to be a man of G-d and in reality you're nothing more than someone who denies the truth, possibly participated in mass murder, not only of 6 million Jews but 60 million non-Jews who also died in WWII and are so often left out or forgotten, and you call yourself a man of G-d? Like many of your predecessors you're simply the head of one of the largest financial entities in the world and live off of the work of others, many who go hungry so you get your donations in a plate filled with nothing but lies. I have many friends whom are Catholic and they no longer want anything to do with the Church because of the behavior of people such as yourself. You will receive your 'reward' when your judgment day arrives. Knowing that Hashem judges all of us 'measure for measure' allows me to sleep at night and though I may receive punishment further than I've already suffered in my life, it's knowing that people such as you will also receive the justice you DESERVE that continues to give me hope that mankind will eventually begin to do the right thing and treat each other with love and respect, basically follow the Law as set forth in the Torah.
Sir, not only did Jews suffer the attrocities of the Gas Chambers, hundresd of thousands of felow believers of Christ, yes Jehovah's Witnesses were inhumanly tortured and many died during the crucible of the halocaust. Rather than follow the philosophy of denial we should rather seek restitution, forgiveness and love. Jesus said we should love those who hate us and even pray for our enemies. The truth at last has prevailed. Loyalty to God comes first.

some countries have less emphasis on free speech than we do. Germany for instance. Holocaust is a special case could legallly be prohibited there. In US it would not be legal and would be counter-productive here.
No, freedom of speech gives everyone the right to his opinion; not the right to say whatever they want. That's the correct way to word your question.
